This tool calculates the optimal (i.e. cheapest) path to reach a certain pro-standing level, starting from your current skills; it tells you how much you should chip for each involved skill, and how much it will cost you.
It is also possible to do the reverse operation, and let the tool calculate the maximum amount of PEDs that you can get when chipping out from a certain level to a lower level. For instance, you are at level 60 in a certain combat profession and you want to chip out, but only down to level 50, so Combat Sense is not re-locked again; the tool tells you the optimal way to do it.
It can be used to know the investment needed to unlock a certain skill, or to reach the required pro-standing level in a certain (L) item that you might be interested in.
You can also calculate how to reach other targets, such as your avatar's Health level, or your Total Skills; those categories are treated exactly as any other profession. Did you ever want to join a society with a requirement of, say, 150k total skill level?, now you can find out the absolute cheapest way to do it.
It is possible to specify a Cost Limit; use this option to let the tool recommend the best possible chipping within a fixed budget, and check how far you can go in your selected target category (profession, health level, or total skill levels). This option also works while chipping out; for instance, you may want to get 1k PED from a certain profession, and the tool tells you what skills you should chip out, and how much, so your pro-standing level is affected as little as possible. Please,
report all feedback, suggestions and bugs. Thanks!.

- Choose a profession (or other category) from the drop down list
- Enter your current skills in the input boxes (leave blank those skills that you have not unlocked yet, and set to 1 those skills where you are still at the initial skill level); if you want a certain skill not to be included in the chipping process, uncheck the corresponding check box
- Alternatively, you can import your skills from different sources:
- You can have them stored in the tool's database and load/save them at any time, together with all your custom prices that you might have defined: you will need an account in this site (contact me by e-mail or through Planet Calypso Forum to get an account); a small contribution to help develop the site and support the hosting fees is expected though... ;)
- You can import them from PE-Wiki: type you full avatar name (as registered in PE-Wiki) and click "Import Skills"
- You can read them from a text file stored in your computer: the skills must be formatted in Comma-Separated-Value (CSV); you can generate CSV files with your skills using the Skill Scanner program
- Your current level is calculated on the fly, as you type (pro-standing levels are displayed in the range [1 - 10,000], so it is actually your in-game level * 100, just to avoid using decimal places); health levels and total skills are shown normally
- Enter your target level (certain interesting levels are displayed as a hint for each category) and/or your desired Cost Limit, and press Go!
- You can select the "Chip out" option, if you want to know how much you can get by chipping out from your current level down to a lower level; if you want you chip out completely, just enter 0 as the target level
- The price for skill implants is calculated from the official "Expiring Auction Items" data provided by Mind Ark; please note that these prices are typically lower than the in-game prices, since they don't include those items bought via the buy-out option. If you want to override these prices, use the "Chip Prices" tab and set your own prices (don't forget to re-calculate your target(s) after setting custom prices)
- You will get the subset of skills that you should chip and how much (in skill level, and TT value of the chip needed) and also the total cost in PEDs
- If you are chipping out, you will get the final ESI size you will get (after the 10% loss), and the net profit after selling it, after discounting the ESI price
- All other professions affected by the recommended chipping are also displayed, together with the old and new pro-standings
- This tool is heavily based on the information collected from the following sources (many thanks and all due credits to the contributors in each thread):
- The function that maps skill values to chip TT value; this function is currently hard-capped by the tool at 20k skill points because it is unknown for higher levels; the optimizing algorithm stops at these levels and the reached levels and cost is shown in red
